What Yellowstone Travel is
Yellowstone Travel is an independent travel guide and directory covering Yellowstone National Park and its gateway towns. We publish informational content and listings for third-party businesses, trails, and experiences. We are not a booking agent, travel agency, or tour operator, and we don't process payments, reservations, or bookings on this site.
Accuracy of information
We work to keep listings, hours, pricing, and trail information accurate and up to date, but conditions change — businesses adjust hours, trails close, permit rules shift, roads close for winter, and prices move. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or current status of any listing. Before you rely on anything here — especially backcountry or fishing permit requirements, winter road access, or safety information — confirm directly with the business, recreation.gov, or the National Park Service at nps.gov/yell.
Outdoor activity is at your own risk
Hiking, wildlife viewing, and other activities described on this site carry inherent risk, including serious injury or death. Yellowstone's geothermal features have injured and killed visitors who left boardwalks and designated trails — the ground can be a thin, unstable crust over near-boiling, acidic water. The park is also home to bison, bears, and other wildlife; NPS-recommended safe viewing distances (25 yards from most wildlife, 100 yards from bears and wolves) exist because close encounters have caused serious injuries. Trail difficulty ratings and descriptions on this site are for general planning only. You are responsible for assessing your own ability, checking current conditions, and following all posted NPS guidance before undertaking any activity referenced on this site.
Third-party links and services
Listings on Yellowstone Travel link to third-party businesses and booking platforms, including recreation.gov, that we don't own or control. We aren't responsible for their content, availability, pricing, or the outcome of any transaction you make with them.
